The 11th Competition



Naoko Ishibashi studied piano under Yoko Kitamura and H. P-Roget. She is a graduate of Toho Gakuen Music High School and the Toho Gakuen School of Music. Ishibashi won the Competition Committee Special Award for her achievement as an accompanist at the 82nd Music Competition of Japan (Flute Discipline). She also is a four-time winner of the Best Accompanist Award at the Biwako International Flute Competition.

In addition to NHK Educational TV’s “Flute Lessons for Beginners,” her performances have been featured in numerous programs on NHK-FM and NHK-BS. Ishibashi has been invited as an official accompanist for the Kobe International Flute Competition, the International Oboe Competition of Japan, the Japan Woodwind Competition, and others. She regularly performs with international musicians at various flute conventions and international clarinet festivals. Her career does not keep her within Japan but takes her to other Asian nations, as well as to Europe and Central America.
